Road Skills Testing

Made Easy

Texas Driving School is authorized to provide state-required driver license knowledge examinations on site. These tests are included as part of the required program for teen and adult driver education courses, and needed, to qualify for a Texas driver license. Exam results are recorded on Certificates of Completion issued to each student and exempt these applicants from having to take these tests at the Driver License Office.

Avoid the extremely long waits and scheduling hassle of taking your driving test at the DPS Driver License office. Our school and examiner/instructors are authorized and certified to offer the official Road Skills Test at our convenient school locations. Take your skills exam in familiar surroundings with examiners and administrative staff that are friendly and helpful!

To Schedule a Driving Test With Us

If you are 16 to 17 years of age you must:

  • Possess a valid DE-964 showing you have completed a Minor and Adult Driver Education Course.

  • Have a valid Learner License, and have held that permit for a minimum of six months.

  • Complete the DPS requirement of viewing the Impact Texas Teens Drivers (ITTD) video, and print the certificate of completion. The certificate of completion must be dated within 90 days prior to taking the drive test.

If you are 18 to 24 years of age you must:

  • Possess a valid DE-964 or ADE-1317 showing completion of a Driver Education Course.

  • Have a valid Learner License.

  • Complete the DPS requirement of viewing the Impact Texas Adult Drivers (ITAD) video, and print the certificate of completion. The certificate of completion must be dated within 90 days prior to taking the drive test.

If you are 25 years of age and older you must:

  • Have a valid Learner License.

  • Complete the DPS requirement of viewing the Impact Texas Adult Drivers (ITAD) video, and print the certificate of completion. The certificate of completion must be dated within 90 days prior to taking the drive test.

If you are older than 25, and are applying for a Texas driver license for the first time, you are not required to complete a driver education course; however, it is highly recommended.
